One of the first presentations at Comminution2012 will address developments in eco-efficient comminution. Dr Mike Daniel, Principal Process consultant at Ausenco and CMD Consulting Pty Ltd and a director of CEEC will present on Tuesday 17th April at 9 am at Comminution 2012. The conference is organized by Minerals Engineering International (MEI) in consultation with Prof. Malcolm Powell and Dr. Aubrey Mainza. The fifth Comminution conference to be hosted by the MEI team, it is expected over 100 global comminution specialists will attend.

CEEC aims to raise awareness beneficial comminution strategies with the objective of improving earnings, achieving lower process costs and further energy efficiencies in the mining sector. In the 12 months since CEEC’s launch, CEEC has presented or been represented at over 8 global conferences.
Global support for CEEC has come from leading mining, engineering, service and equipment companies. All these companies recognised the value CEEC provides to the industry by raising awareness and driving the issue of cost savings and reduced energy usage from beneficial comminution strategies into the forefront of debate and review.
CEEC has created a comprehensive web site with a selected library of papers and presentations relating to eco-efficient comminution. Regular blog contributions are posted in the web site, as well as on CEEC’s LinkedIn Group. Over 400 LinkedIn members from all over the globe have signed up to participate in the debate and knowledge sharing through this group.
The Eco-Efficient workshop offered by CEEC in Santiago, Chile in late November 2011 received excellent feedback. The one day program attracted strong interest, with comments indicating classroom sharing and discussion was one of the main benefits of participation.
The CEEC Medal will be awarded in June 2012, to recognise the most outstanding contribution in the field of eco-efficient comminution over the past twelve months. The Medal is intended to encourage the publication of research and field work on eco-efficient comminution strategies, rewarding those who build greater awareness and understanding of the benefits of eco-efficient comminution.
