CPE offers a complete engineering service, starting with laboratory and pilot testing, through to detailed engineering design, manufacture, and supervision of installation and commissioning.
Products and Services
Agitators
CPE designs and manufactures a range of agitators to meet the widest range of agitation requirements, precisely and economically. They are ideally suited for both batch and continuous applications such as:
- Blending of two or more miscible liquids.
- Complete motion of a liquid to maintain uniformity and prevent phase stratification.
- Promote heat exchange where temperature control is desired.
- Solids suspension and solids dissolving
- Contacting operations such as gas dispersion and immiscible liquid agitation.
Types of Agitators
Various agitation configurations can be offered including:
- Clamp-on portable with swivel or socket plate mount.
- Fixed mount top entering with inline or right-angled drive.
- Side entering, with shaft retract system, for seal replacement without emptying the tank contents.
- Bottom entering.
- Special purpose including dual speed counter rotating.
Agitators can be supplied with lip, hydraulic, stuffing box or mechanical seal options. Numerous wetted parts of construction are available including 316 Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Monel, rubber, plastic or special coatings.
Static Mixers
The Chemplant Inline Mixer is geometrically shaped to provide predictable, repeatable and rapid mixing results within a pipeline. The inline mixer will blend, disperse, react or shear two or more fluids within short lengths of piping. To achieve these results, the mixer relies partly or wholly on the principals of radial eddying, flow division, and shear reversal. These transport phenomena combine to eliminate concentration, velocity, and thermal gradients in a plug flow fashion without losses in back mixing.
The inline static mixer can be used for many applications
- Liquid-Liquid Blending
- Liquid-Liquid Dispersion
- Gas-Liquid Gas Blending
- Heat Transfer
- Thermal Homogenization
The static mixer can be supplied with removable, sanitary or special element designs. Injectors and sparge systems are optional, as are jacketed units for heating and cooling. Shell and tube designs are engineered for viscous heat transfer problems.
Static mixer are available in a wide range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, Monel, Hastelloy, PVC, FRP, ceramic, Teflon and a variety of other special alloys.
Vacuum Filters
Travelling Belt Filters suitable for continuous filtration of fast draining slurries. Equipment is available in size flanges from 1m2 to 70 m2 filtration area.
Rotary Pan filters suitable for continuous filtration of rapid settling, free filtering solids and are designed for ease of installation and simple reliable operation. Filter sizes range from 0.7m2 (1 metre diameter) to 64m2 (9.3 metre diameter).
Rotary Drum Filters are available in a variety of configurations with differing cake discharge mechanisms and can include the use of precoat to enhance filtrate clarity or assist with cake build-up. Filtration areas range from about 1.0m2 to around 240 m2.
All vacuum filtration equipment is custom designed for the process application and are available in a variety of construction materials to suit the operating conditions. Filters are available complete with filter stations to manage filtrate and vacuum systems and can include PLC controls if required.
Pressure Leaf Filters
Chemical Plant & Engineering, in partnership with AMA Filter Group, is able to design and supply a complete range of pressure leaf filters.
Products include:
- Horizontal retractable steel/bundle units ranging from 5m2 to 180 m2
- Vertical dry/wet cake discharge units ranging in size from 2m2 to 85m2
- Pulse Tube filters for fine product polishing
- Rotojet Filters in single and double conical and ‘V” sump configuration ranging in size from 3m2 to 200 m2
Filter Presses
Chemical Plant & Engineering in partnership with Tefsa Spain, is able to design and supply plate filter presses and belt filter presses complete with ancillary equipment in a variety of product configurations.
Examples include:
- manual and semi-automatic filter presses with recessed or membrane plates, the dimensions of which range from 500 x 500mm to 1500 x 2000mm.
- fully automatic filter presses with recessed or membrane plates the dimensions of which range from 630 x 630mm to 1500 x 1500 mm.
- belt filter presses with widths of 1200mm, 1700mm or 2200mm.
- polymer make-up and dosing units
- high pressure sludge feeding pumps (piston or membrane type) specially designed to allow filter presses to produce cake with a high dry solids content.
Powder Mixers
Chemical Plant & Engineering has a number of equipment configurations for the mixing of dry powders.
We offer the FM Mixer which provides a homogenous blend regardless of particle size and density and eliminates segregation during mixing, unnecessary generation of heat and can also provide capability to adequately disperse liquids. Size range from 30 litre to 6000 litre bowl capacities.
In conjunction with A & J Mixing in Canada we offer the Phlaeur Mixer which offers similar mixing performance to the FM Mixer, but is available in single rotor as well as double rotor configuration. In
addition, the addition of the shearmaking accessory creates the ability to quickly and completely break up agglomerates or totally disperse difficult additives
GL Nozzle
The GL nozzle is a venturi based system which is capable of dramatic improvement in oxygen transfer due to optimised internal geometry and wear resistant internal liners
The units are sized based upon process data and start at 40 mm diameter then generally increase in standard pipe schedule sizes.
Material of construction for the outer pipe are generally CS or SS and internal liners are Silicon Carbide or Aluminium Oxide Ceramic.
