Join Austmine in Adelaide for our Innovation in Exploration Smart Mining Networking Event. Over the course of an hour we will hear from a variety of speakers who specialise in utilising innovative technology to achieve optimal results in exploration. The presentations will be followed by drinks and networking – giving attendees an opportunity to connect with some of the state’s most interesting and innovative Juniors.
Our first speaker is Dr John Parker, Managing Director at Lincoln Minerals. John is a geologist and geophysicist with extensive knowledge of the geology, mineral deposits and mineralizing systems in the Precambrian of southern Australia. Lincoln Minerals was granted a mining lease on the Kookaburra Gully project in June 2016. The Company is currently preparing its Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR) to enable mine development to commence in 2017 subject to Government approval and securing finance. To extend the project life, Lincoln Minerals is exploring for graphite along strike from Kookaburra Gully using a combination of electromagnetic surveys, soil sampling and drilling.
Next we will hear from Dr Antonio Belperio, Executive Director - Business Development at Minotaur Exploration. Tony has over 35 years of experience in a wide variety of geological disciplines in university, government and mineral exploration entities. Tony will discuss the application of innovative electrical geophysical techniques in base metals exploration under deep cover.
Minotaur deploys various geophysical techniques in its search for base metals around Australia. New discoveries are more than likely to emerge from basement rocks obscured by cover sequences where conventional geochemical sampling methods are unsuitable. Minotaur's geoscientists have been honing our 'exploration toolbox' over the past decade seeking hidden mineralisation. The types and applications of these tools will be canvassed and related to specialist support provided by the industry's services sector.
