New Minerals Division Vice President for FLSmidth
International minerals processing group FLSmidth has appointed Laurie Barlow as Vice President, Minerals. He will be based in Perth.
Born in Brisbane, Mr Barlow is a Chemical Engineer with an MBA in Technology Management and has extensive project management and senior management experience in the cement and minerals industries – core product areas of the group.
Along with wide-ranging experience in the design and delivery of mineral processing projects throughout Australasia, including gold, copper, nickel, coal, iron ore and alumina processing and recovery, he has extensive experience with the sizing, specification and commissioning of the EIMCO and WEMCO range of solid/liquid and solid/solid separation process equipment, world-leading components of the FLSmidth product range.
Mr Barlow has been heavily involved in establishing project teams to undertake economic feasibility studies and project execution under various contracting strategies such as EPC, EPCM, D&C and Alliances.
He is acknowledged internationally for his focus on achieving excellence in safety and project delivery, and in bringing innovative solutions to mineral processing operations.
Along with his Chemical Engineering qualifications he is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, an Engineering Executive of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Registered Professional Engineer QLD (Chemical).
