Webinar Recording: Expanding into Latin America – Tips and Insights for Australian METS
Australian METS’ technology is widely renowned for being more reliable and cost-effective than products and services offered by overseas competitors. This is most definitely the case in Latin America, where many operations are in critical need of Australia’s productivity enhancing and safety-improving technologies. This trust of Australian products presents significant export opportunities for Australian METS at a time where it is difficult to secure business in our domestic market due to declining commodity prices.
According to Austmine’s 2015 METS sector survey, 42% of Australian METS exported to South America (mostly towards Latin American nations of Chile and Brazil), making it one of the biggest markets for Australian technology. Latin America produces a considerable amount of iron ore, Copper and gold among other minerals and encompasses several resource rich nations including Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru.
Austmine recently held a webinar on Latin American expansion opportunities which featured a panel of experts who have built up years of practical experience in the market. This included:
- Kim Prior, Founder & CEO, Australia-Cuba Business Council
- Paul Higgins, CEO, Dingo Mining
- Jeff Baxter, CEO, APS Lighting and Safety
- Steve Hall, Director, Australia-Latin America Business Council
- Carlos Perez, International Partner Manager, Dingo Mining
- Robert Trzebski, COO, Austmine
