Papua New Guinea Mining Mission Review: 4 - 8 June 2018
Austmine recently completed the 2018 PNG Mining Technology Mission, taking 10 Australian METS companies overseas to establish relationships in the market and to gain first-hand experience in the local mining sector. The delegation comprised of Austmine members who provided a varied range of innovative products and solutions, including Tomra Sorting Solutions, CAPS Australia, Telstra Mining Services, PROK Conveyors, Xenith Consulting, Insitu Pacific, Akwa – Worx, Conveyor Products and Solutions, CSE Uniserve and TS Global.
Over the course of the week, the mission provided the opportunity to tour key mine sites, meet executives and technical personnel of mining companies and local suppliers, gain new contacts through networking events and learn about the current business landscape through educational briefings.
From the mission, it can be concluded that PNG is a market of significant potential for Australian suppliers but isn’t without potential risks.
