$34.5 Million Boost for Innovation in Minerals - CRC ORE Funding Grant
With innovation pivotal to long term job creation, today’s announcement by the Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon. Ian Macfarlane MP, to fund a collaborative industry research initiative is an important boost. The Cooperative Research Centre for Optimising Resource Extraction (CRC ORE) bridges the gap between research and industry and fosters the development and commercialisation of new technology. CRC ORE will help keep Australia’s minerals industry globally competitive and create opportunities to supply technology to international markets.
CRC ORE CEO Joe Pease, said, “This is a great outcome for industry, researchers and Australia’s vibrant METS sector (Mining, Equipment, Technology and Services). The minerals industry downturn highlights an urgent need to improve the productivity and energy efficiency of producing minerals for society. The successful collaboration in the first term of CRC ORE demonstrated huge potential. This second six year term is all about delivering that potential in operations, creating real value and new growth opportunities for our best researchers and innovative METS suppliers”.
About CRC ORE:
