Sandy Gray awarded IOM3’s Futers Gold Medal in London

BALLARAT, VIC - The management and staff of Gekko Systems are proud to announce that Sandy Gray, Technical Director and co-founder, was awarded the 2019 Futers Gold Medal for “outstanding services to the international minerals industry” at the IOM3 Gala Dinner at the Science Museum in London last week on 11th July 2019.
IOM3, also known as the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, is an United Kingdom based association. They exist to promote and develop all aspects of material science and engineering, and are a leading authority in the worldwide materials and mining community.
Sandy was delighted to have been nominated and given this international award and recognition. In receiving the award, Mr Gray said “I am deeply honoured to receive international recognition on behalf of myself and my dedicated and talented team.”

The Institute noted in dedicating the 2019 Futers Gold Medal to Sandy that he has “rejuvenated the art of continuous gravity separation and become a world leader in low energy and pre-concentration flowsheets encompassing gravity methods, flotation, concentrate leaching for the gold and silver sector… His inventions are breakthroughs in the field of mineral processing…and are widely installed in operations throughout the world.”
