Live Webinar: The Year Ahead in Mining & METS

As we welcome in 2019, there is an overarching sentiment of cautious optimism pervasive in the mining industry.

Activity is picking up again, with expenditure on sustaining capital, new developments and project expansions driving growth for mining and METS businesses. The new horizons made possible through digitisation of mining and the impact of smart technologies is transforming the industry before our eyes, creating avenues for greater control and visibility over operations, and ultimately, increased productivity, margin and safety.

However, this interplays with significant caution from industry participants. Global uncertainty is becoming more pronounced, with factors such as political instability, economic growth of China and India and trade wars contributing to unease about the future. Furthermore, there are many pressing challenges facing the future of mining, including greater scrutiny from stakeholders, a growing skills and labour shortage and the difficulties in integrating digital solutions into operations.

With these factors in mind, Austmine will host this webinar to explore the outlook for the mining industry and METS sector in 2019.

The webinar will cover:

  • Commodity outlook, demand conditions and mining activity in 2019;
  • Risks in the mining market, including license to operate, global instability and disruption
  • Key trends in the Australian METS sector and opportunities for growth;
  • An interactive Q&A session to ask your key questions for the year ahead.
