Vimy Resources CEO Leadership Lunch

Vimy Resources CEO Leadership Lunch

Mike Young, Managing Director & CEO, Vimy Resources

  • Hear crucial insights on Vimy Resources' priorities to develop Australia’s uranium resources
  • Learn more about the increasing global demand and current market stimulation for uranium
  • Connect and develop relationships with like-minded industry leaders

Vimy Resources is a uranium development company with the Mulga Rock Project in Western Australia and the Alligator River Project in the Northern Territory. In January 2018, Vimy released a Definitive Feasibility Study which showed a strategic long-life uranium project which could provide sufficient uranium to power eight reactors per year based on the contemplated 3.5Mlbpa production rate.

At this event, Mike Young will provide his unique perspectives on the current state of play within the industry, update on what is next in store for Vimy Resources and explore how nuclear energy is driving the sustainability of the industry through clean, safe and reliable power.

Speaker Information

Mike has a degree in Geological Sciences from Queens University in Canada. After graduating, he spent a few years working in uranium mines in northern Saskatchewan where the temperature sometimes didn’t rise above minus 30 degrees Celsius.  In 1987 he moved to the sunshine and booming mining industry of Western Australia where he specialised as a consultant resource geologist before becoming the Managing Director of BC Iron Limited, which he took from first drillhole to first iron ore shipment in under four years.

Mike joined Vimy Resources in 2013 as Managing Director and CEO bringing over 30 years’ experience in mine exploration and resource developing, leading and navigating exploration companies through to the stages of development and production. He loves the uranium sector and he passionately believes that nuclear energy is the cleanest, safest and most reliable source of power.
