Steve Walters, Chief Technologist, will be leaving his full-time role as Chief Technologist with CRC ORE at the end of June this year. However, we are pleased to announce that Steve will continue with CRC ORE in a part time consultative capacity, focussing on selected project initiatives. Steve has been an integral member of CRC ORE for many years. As one of the industry’s pre-eminent step-change thinkers, Steve has been instrumental in leading thought processes and modernising CRC ORE’s approach to innovation and applied research.
Mr Paul Revell, General Manager - Research and Innovation
Due to Steve’s impending change in role, a new position of General Manager - Research and Innovation has been developed to replace the current Chief Technologist position. The new role will also undertake the task of Program Coordinator for Program 4: Control, as well as assist with aspects of Program 3: Extract.
I am pleased to advise that the successful candidate for this position is Paul Revell. Paul brings a wealth of industry and leadership experience to the role. Paul is an accomplished technical processing manager and chemical engineering professional with 20 years of global experience within the mining, mineral processing and manufacturing sectors of major mining companies.
Paul will be known to many of our Participants through his time with companies such as Anglo American, Rio Tinto and Superior Coal. During this time, he was heavily involved in defining and understanding the full potential of in-situ resources. Paul was charged with deploying and optimising the appropriate mineral processing systems and technology to safely and cost effectively deliver the identified value.
During Paul’s seven years spent with Anglo American, he took on a range of senior leadership roles focussed on identifying, evaluating, justifying and managing the safe execution of mineral processing optimisation activities globally across the Anglo American portfolio of commodities (platinum and precious metals, base metals, coal, iron ore, copper & diamonds).
Paul is very experienced in communication, collaboration, influencing and negotiating in order to deliver results across diverse cultural settings and teams. His specialisation in project evaluation and execution, risk assurance, resource and process optimisation, and technology innovation and development will be a valuable asset to CRC ORE.
Paul commenced with us on Monday 10 April and I am sure you will join me in welcoming Paul to the team.
