BHP gives go ahead for Clough EPC contract for South Flank Project

  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contract for a brownfields expansion on an existing mine project in Western Australia;
  •  Successfully securing work as part of diversifying revenue stream strategy;
  •  Continues Clough’s 100+ year history in delivering projects for the resources industry.

Engineering and Construction Company, Clough, is pleased to announce an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, to deliver the non-process infrastructure (NPI) for the BHP South Flank Project.

Clough CEO and Managing Director, Peter Bennett said “We are very pleased to have been selected as BHP’s delivery partner.  Clough has been delivering EPC solutions in other sectors over the last few years and it is a natural progression to utilise this capability for our mining clients too.”

“This project provides a strong platform to continue building the relationship between our companies. The engineering and construction of this facility will be self-performed by Clough’s WA based team, with the scope including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation.” Bennett said.

The South Flank project will fully replace production from the 80Mtpa (100 per cent basis) Yandi mine which is reaching the end of its economic life.  Clough will engineer, design and construct NPI facilities to support the mining activities at South Flank and the ore handling plant at Mining Area C.
