IMARC 2019: Marketing & Communications Tribe

Austmine hosted our latest Marketing & Communications Tribe Meet-Up at IMARC 2019 on Monday 28th October.

Expert speaker Penny Giudice, Senior Marketing & Communications Advisor, Beca joined the group and presented on how METS companies are able to utilise their own staff to create compelling content. Her presentation covered the best way to approach staff to ensure a passionate and engaged advocate, including creating a highly specific goal, carefully selecting the best voice for the project and researching to ensure a unique angle.

Penny recommends building trust with your staff by really connecting and getting to know their interests both inside and outside of the work environment. Understanding their challenges within the workplace will allow you to speak to them in a way they understand and present the opportunity in a way that highlights the benefits for everyone involved. She also recommended communicating via their preferred medium, reducing the time required on their behalf by researching where possible and keeping in touch with a timetable and finished content, so they are able to see the value of being involved.
