Key Engineering Solutions has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2014. From the beginning founders Wilson Florez and Andre Gibson were determined to move away from the status quo that delivered professional services based on profits and not people.
Wilson and Andre saw this vision begin to unfold in a little café. For them, the solution was simple; the business would operate ethically, with the purpose of delivering genuine customer and employee satisfaction. Together the two invited clients to join them for a “coffee catch-up” in the café that soon became their first office.
With every customer, Key ensures they have understood client requirements and promises the delivery of valuable and quantifiable results that can be sustained well into the future.
5 years later, Key has successfully implemented real improvements to some of WA’s biggest mining names, optimising current processes, updating outdated methods, and removing unnecessary tasks; all while maintaining a positive and genuine relationship with their clients.
You don’t have to look far to see where the success and soul of the business comes from. Identified for their culture, Key has a belief in the constant development of their people. Placing strong emphasis on people skills first, Key aims to consistently unlock the potential of their employees with the return seen in unlocking the potential for clients.
The initial cultural foundations of the company set up by Wilson and Andre can still be seen in the company today. The “coffee catch-ups” that started the business are now one of Keys rituals which encourages open communication and genuine human interaction. It is clear that the original vision and mission of Key to put people above profits is ingrained in their culture and will sustain the company into the future.
With the company having gone through successful growth and being in a healthy space, Wilson and Andre are handing over the reins to Edgar Escobar, Jason Tan and Hans Van Beesten. This new management team have vowed to sustain and continue to uphold the values and ethics that have made Key a game changer in the way professional services are delivered.
Sustainability is paramount to industry, and now Wilson and Andre are taking their passion to begin a new journey within renewable energy. As the two start Urge Energy, they will take with them the successes and lessons from Key Engineering Solutions, with the promise of an exciting yet challenging future for Urge Energy.
