Patrick Smith is Elected to the Board of Directors of Austmine

AMC Consultants Pty Ltd (AMC) welcomes the appointment of its Managing Director, Mr Patrick Smith, to the Austmine Board of Directors.

Patrick’s appointment was part of the selection of a new board made during Austmine’s Annual General Meeting on 1 October 2015. This meeting also saw former Deputy Chair Alexander Kachellek, Managing Director of Korvest, elected as Chair. ”I look forward to working with like-minded industry leaders on the Board to help achieve Austmine’s vision”, said Patrick.

A member of Austmine for the past eight years, AMC has enjoyed a close relationship with this important industry body. Throughout its 25 years of advocacy, Austmine has worked towards making Australia a true global hub for the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector by promoting the advancement and competitive positioning of Australian technology and innovation in mining and resources.

An example of this is Austmine’s role as Partner Organization for the upcoming International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Melbourne of which AMC is also a Silver Sponsor. As part of its IMARC sponsorship, AMC’s Director and Corporate Manager, Andrew Hall, will present “Creating value through integrated business planning” on 11 November, 11.50 am -12.10 pm at the Technology Centre.

Patrick has been with AMC since 2004, serving as General Manager of the Brisbane office, CEO, and currently Managing Director. He holds a degree in mining engineering from the University of Queensland and is a Chartered Professional of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. During his time with AMC, Patrick has worked on mining studies, technical reviews, and valuations for projects in Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
