Whitepaper: Gold Fields Granny Smith Implemented Minnovare's Production Optimiser - Reduced Average Blast-Hole Deviation at the Toe by 51%

This was originally published by Minnovare.

Gold Fields Granny Smith Mine implemented Minnovare’s Production Optimiser technology in June 2018.; with immediate effect; Average blast-hole deviation at the toe reduced by 51%, leading to a number of improvements in drill & blast productivity and performance.

Michael Place, Unit Manager: Projects at Granny Smith: “The immediate-future implications for Granny Smith as a result of this technology are that we’re now reviewing our drill and blast patterns throughout the mine to see where we can improve and optimise our designs in light of greater accuracy. Recovery has improved, and ore bodies that were previously uneconomical or ‘marginal’ are now being attempted – leaving nothing behind. Ultimately this increases the net present value (NPV) of the mine.”
