Unchartered territory: Australia’s growing space mining industry

As a former NASA astronaut, Pamela Melroy commanded a space shuttle and spent almost 1000 hours in space. In this special presentation for resources professionals, Pamela will be sharing her insights into space exploration and the vision for space mining.

This keynote will cover the new technologies emerging in the space industry and how Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth (AROSE) was established to unify Australia’s unique abilities in the space sector and terrestrial remote operations. What are the biggest challenges of space mining and how can Australian professionals in the sector work together to be a leader in the development of space mining?

Cat Matson is a popular MC, known for her authentic style and extracting the best from panellists and speakers she interviews. Cat is the founder and lead facilitator of Impactful Presenters, an online program that teaches change-makers and professionals how to present with confidence. As Brisbane’s former chief digital officer, Cat has a strong reputation in Australia’s innovation ecosystems and was recognised in 2018 at the IDC Digital Transformation Awards as Australia’s Digital Experience (DX) Leader. Cat has led the way in open innovation programs for civic improvement with the design and development of Brisbane Innovate, believed to be one of the largest open innovation programs in the world.
