Mining operations are constantly adapting to the swings and roundabouts of the mining economy and the recent times have been quite challenging. Production targets are tighter than ever therefore efficient and accurate production planning is critical. Now more than ever innovation is the key to providing solutions.
RPM's discreet event simulation software is one such innovation that is proving to make a real difference in the accuracy and cost effectiveness of production plans.
If you're interested in learning more about the use of simulation in production planning or want to see the latest innovations in this space then this session is for you.
Session Presenter - Lisa Duncan, Products Specialist, Simulation and Scheduling Technology. Lisa has over 19 years of experience in the mining industry both on an operational side and extensively in mining software. Read more about Lisa.
Session 3 - End to End Scheduling - Simplifying the Problems
BRISBANE - Wednesday 15 April | 7.30 am PERTH - Thursday 9 April | 4 pm
Mine scheduling is a critical and highly strategic area of mine planning. It is traditionally undertaken using a host of different processes and supporting software. While solving some problems has become easier with the use of sophisticated software, sometimes the software itself has added to the complexity.
Scheduling engineers are making decisions that contribute to the setting of your long term strategic plan, major capital purchases in the medium term and continued production of expensive equipment in the short term. So the methods chosen for scheduling can have a significant impact on the value of your operation.
With this in mind, scheduling needs to be considered as an end to end process, and one that is undertaken as effectively and efficiently as possible. How can schedulers manage their processes so they lead to the best decisions, decisions that improve the value of your operations? This is sure to be a highly engaging session.
Session Presenter - Alun Phillips, Product Manager Mine Planning and Innovation. Alun has 35 years experience in the mining industry, 20 of which have been with RPM. Read more about Alun.
