Webinar Recording: Canadian Mining Market
Canada has a long and rich mining history, with nearly 400,000 people employed in the industry. As an industry, they are facing many of the same challenges that miners are coming up against around the world: decreasing productivity, reduced exploration spending, remote mine locations and a need for greater innovation. However, whilst most mining nations are seeing more mines going underground in response to the resources being extracted, Canada is in fact experiencing the opposite. This has led to a need for open pit experience from their METS partners, which Australian companies have in abundance.
Ahead of our Canada Mining Mission taking place in October 2016, Austmine held a webinar to highlight the opportunities we see in this region for Australian METS. This webinar featured an expert panel of speakers, experienced in the Canadian Mining Market, who discussed the current market sector, provided a detailed insight into the Ontario region and its particular opportunities, along with challenges and opportunities for Australian METS.
