Bridging the Technology Talent Gap with the Awesome Spectrum

Workplace safety technology provider, rerisk® has appointed the Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance, AASQA, as its software testing partner. AASQA, a Curtin University initiative, empowers people on the Autism Spectrum to work in the technology industry.

“When your technology prevents workplace deaths and injuries, software testing is genuinely a matter of life and death” said rerisk® CEO, Jaqueline Outram. “We started employing people on the Spectrum as a social initiative but quickly discovered their passion and unique skill sets bring real economic and innovation benefits.”

Curtin University Professor Tele Tan said AASQA solves the shortage of technology talent by supporting employers to diversify their talent with people on the Spectrum. “AASQA bridges the gap between the discovery and engagement of this often-overlooked talent pool.”
