CNC Crushers’ Roadstone Shaft 5 Crushing Plant

Weir Minerals Africa target low throughput and excessive maintenance problems with a full process-focused solution

Background:
CNC Crushers’ Roadstone Shaft 5 is based in Stilfontein, in the North West Province of South Africa. The company has been manufacturing and supplying sand and aggregate materials since 2006.

The challenge:
The customer was experiencing high wear on the installed conventional cyclone, as well as the old technology Envirotech® pump - having to replace liners every 120 hours of operation. The brief was to increase solids to the cyclone underflow, and increase wear life on the cyclone feed pump. The continuous breakdowns experience with the older technology crushing equipment and excessive oil usage was also causing increased downtime for the plant. CNC Crushers’ owner required a solution from the team that would utilise the existing footprint and infrastructure.
