IMARC 2016: Matthew Barnett, Professor, Deakin University

The final session of day one in Austmine's Technology Theatre saw miners, METS and researchers discuss the need for our sector to embrace partnerships and collaboration. Matthew Barnett, Professor, Deakin University presented on the topic of "Collaborative Alloy Innovation for Mining Efficiency". 

Matthew spoke about mineAlloy, an ARC Industry Transformation Training Centre specialising in alloy innovation to improve mining efficiency. This offers the opportunity for students to pursue industrial training and strengthen their industry capabilities, with the aim of creating new wear resistant alloys and making innovations in the manufacturing process.
