Monday Member Meetups

To assist members connect and participate in essential industry discussion during this unique and challenging time, the Austmine team is hosting regular meetups.

Meetup Information

These sessions provide members with a space to discuss current challenges, partnership opportunities, business issues and the latest Austmine initiatives. 

Held fortnightly, each meetup will feature:

  • The latest government updates and measures on both national and state levels.
  • A guest speaker from government body, mining company or industry leader to update members on restrictions and advice.
  • A specific topic as a focus point for discussion during the meetup, such as information on specific international markets for exporters.
  • Designated time for members to share concerns or strategies around current industry challenges.

The virtual events are a great opportunity to contribute to discussion on the industry's landscape and challenges, find out about new initiatives and connect with fellow METS companies.

Meet-up Details

Meetups are held every second Monday at 1 - 2pm AEST / 11AM - 12pm AWST.

The next meetup on 7th September 2020 will feature guest speaker Chris Baker, CEO, Strattera.

Chris Baker is a member of the Institute of Directors (NZ), and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Chris is the CEO of Straterra Inc, a member based organisation established to provide high level representation and advocacy for the resource sector in New Zealand.

He is also Chairman of MinEx, health and safety for the mining and quarrying sector and Advisor, Chairman, RSC Mining and Mineral Exploration Ltd.

Chris’s experience spans 35+ years in mining and energy in Australia and New Zealand, in executive and governance roles and across many commodities, in particular gold and coal.

Please note, these meetups are free to attend, however, they are open to members only.
