AssetOn's Journey to Export Success
This year, AssetOn won the Business Services category at the Premier of Queensland Export Awards. We are thrilled and honoured to be selected from among Queensland’s best international companies.
There was serious competition in our category; the other finalists were bigger and more well-established companies. They were BMD Constructions, an industry-leader in construction and urban development, sustainability certification program, EarthCheck, and 50-year old mining services provider, International Mill Relines.
There were hundreds of applicants in all 16 categories of the Export Awards. It is Queensland’s most prestigious industry awards program and everyone at AssetOn is very proud to be included in such company.
So, what do we think gave us the winning edge?
Well, we figure that it’s due to two things. First, our innovative and customised Master Data as a Service. This is one of our signature business services, offering a strategic, end-to-end master data service. Basically, it delivers the most efficient and safe mining equipment master data on the market.
We’re pretty proud of it.
Second is our industry-first partnership with one of the world’s biggest Caterpillar dealers, Hastings Deering. This partnership takes our Master Data as a Service offering to a whole new level with dealer-validated master data.
Basically, here at AssetOn, we now offer our mining clients the most accurate and efficient master data service in Australia. Which means we save them a lot of time and money and a great ROI.
It sounds like a winning combination to us.
Together with our work in specialist recruitment and holistic asset management services, we think that the AssetOn team is well positioned for a tonne of new growth and overseas expansion.
Hastings Deering is one of the five biggest distributors of Caterpillar equipment in the world and Caterpillar holds the biggest market share of mobile mining equipment. Our partnership with Hastings Deering means they will also market our services throughout their networks in Queensland, Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia.
We already successfully export our Master Data as a Service to mining companies internationally, to Suriname, Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea and Ghana. And in 2019, we have plans to extend into the US and South America.
It’s an exciting time for both AssetOn and master data innovations in the mining industry.
Winning a Premier of Queensland Export Award is a great validation of our work and potential export growth.
The Australian Export Awards are a national program that recognise excellence and achievement in business. Each state and territory has its own awards and the winners of each category go to Canberra for the national Awards.
Aside from the Awards ceremony, all finalists attend a networking event. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the other state and territory Business Services winners, make connections and learn about new and innovative ways of working.
The national Export Awards in Canberra are in late November and we will be there! Wish us luck.
