CPS: A Proud Leader in Innovative Conveyor Design and Engineering
PRESS RELEASE | August 2020
Established in 2003, Conveyor Products & Solutions (CPS) first sought to change the bulk materials handling market by introducing the first all-polymer roller to the Australian market – the flagship Yeloroll product. Since then, CPS has grown to become a world-class leader in innovative conveyor manufacturing and technology—designed and developed by CPS’s own Engineering team.
As a specialist in overland conveyors (OLC), CPS has designed, engineered, and fabricated major OLC idler contracts for the WA Iron Ore Industry. These projects attest to the company’s proven track record of delivering innovative solutions and value to its customers. In one of these projects, the CPS team safely delivered high accuracy, light weight, low-noise, and low-rolling-resistance idlers for overland conveyors to the Rio Tinto Silvergrass project and the BHP Jimblebar expansion project—with engineering and design work conducted by the engineering team at the CPS Welshpool facility.
CPS’s most notable OLC projects also include the BHP’s South Flank iron ore project, wherein CPS supplied the first all-composite roller conveyor and designed, engineered, and fabricated the conveyor system idlers, especially for BHP. Running two 26-kilometre long conveyors to form South Flank’s main arteries, the project featured 72,000 of CPS’ Yeloroll HD composite rollers as well as 24,000 separate conveyor frames and 14,000 high tolerance carry idler frames. CPS takes pride in having completed the supply on time and on budget.
CPS supplies Australian made, premium quality, and superior performing rollers, pulleys, and idlers in its highly automated manufacturing plant, with significant investment in custom-built equipment to process roller components safely, efficiently, and consistently. From its humble beginnings in Perth, CPS now ships its products across the globe, making its mark in the industry for its excellent quality conveyor products and solutions as well as its short lead times and on-time deliveries.
The company’s seasoned engineering team has worked with several Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) companies and mining operators, optimising greenfield and brownfield conveyor designs. Among the companies that CPS has previously partnered with to design and manufacture idlers and/or pulleys include Sedgman/Civmec, MMG, BHP, Fluor, FQM, Jacobs and more.
