Opportunity with QUT's Engineering Industry Capstone Program
Austmine is partnering with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in order to create visibility and promote the METS sector with engineering students, academics and researchers at QUT. Our objective is to build our reputation and attract future talents and leaders into the Australian METS sector.
As part of the engineering curriculum in their final year, QUT engineering students will be working in teams of 4 on real-world industry capstone projects.
Click here for further information about the benefits of these projects to both your organisation and the students and outlines the registration process. It also includes example of various capstone projects that can be used to help scoping yours.
You are invited to provide a project (or maybe a few) where your organisation would benefit by having a team of QUT students applying their knowledge and expertise to solve. This is a no-cost operation for your organisation and a fantastic opportunity to:
- Get your name out and create visibility within the QUT student’s community,
- Build your talent pool by assessing final year engineering students on real-work projects,
- Get some of those projects done that have been on your to-do list (not mission critical),
- Develop leadership within your organisation by asking future managers to mentor and lead the QUT students (only one hour a week of supervision is requested).
To start, submit your project directly with QUT via this link. Once this project has been reviewed by a team of QUT academics, the academic with the best research alignment to your project will supervise the students and interact with your appointed contact. Next steps, including agreements of IP etc will then be communicated to you by QUT Industry Engagement team.
Submissions must be lodged before the end of February 2020.
If you request any further information, have any difficulty scoping the projects, or can’t make the deadline, please contact directly QUT Industry Engagement team:
