Perumin 2019 - Australian Pavillion

Peru is Latin America’s best performing mining market, with a pipeline of 49 major mine projects, worth just over US$58 billion forecast from 2019-28. With existing mines enjoying sustained periods of growth, a strong pipeline of new mine construction and further prospects for growth thanks to under-exploration, a diversified mineral base and low energy costs Peru offers considerable opportunities for Australia companies.

PERUMIN is the second largest mining event in the Americas. It’s not just a trade show but a conference, a myriad of satellite networking events and THE gathering of the entire Peruvian mining community, from the President of the country down!

As the market has matured it’s moved from cost minimisation to mine optimisation mode. Peru-based mining firms are well disposed to Australian innovation and are actively seeking solutions to improve production, position for further growth and raise operational standards.

PERUMIN has been central to the successful market entry and expansion strategies of many Australian METS firms. Thanks to its location in Arequipa, the capital of Peru’s southern mining belt, PERUMIN effectively captures senior executives, mine superintendents, procurement managers and technical staff for the duration. In 2017, it attracted more than 70,000 visitors and delegations from 13 countries.

Austrade will be coordinating packages for Australian METS companies to exhibit and attend PERUMIN.
