Webinar Recording: Cyber Security in Mining Operational Technology

In recent years, the mining industry has embraced automation and machine-to-machine communications to improve productivity, safety and reduce costs, allowing miners to solve critical challenges and redesign day-to-day operations.

However, the modern and future nature of mining comes with unprecedented challenges surrounding the cyber security of operational technology (OT). The risk of a cyber attack on hardware and software that is used to control OT networks and critical infrastructure is a very real one. It also has the capacity to be far more damaging than traditional cyber attacks, not only causing financial losses, but also leading to outages of critical systems and processes and even the loss of life.

This webinar featured three cyber security experts with significant experience in working with mining and METS companies to protect their critical assets. They explored the current landscape of cyber security in the mining sector, documenting key initiatives and solutions for safeguarding critical equipment and infrastructure.
