CLOSED: Upgrade to Battery Operated/Renewable Energy Based HEMMs

Tata Steel is working with Austmine to find a battery solution for HEMMs within the Innoventure Program.

The opportunity is to develop a solution that would upgrade a large fleet of diesel operated Heavy Earth Moving Machineries (HEMMs) to battery / renewable energy based operated mobile equipment. 

Various types of HEMMs are being utilised throughout their mines for loading, hauling and other processes of open cast mining operations. The upgrade aims to return energy efficiency, minimise environmental impact of using fossil fuels as major sources of energy, increase safety and reduce costs.
